What happens when your connection drops
netplex. is built to tell you when something goes wrong, not hide it - if your browser genuinely loses its network connection, a banner says so immediately rather than letting actions quietly fail with no explanation.
Losing connectivity mid-session - wifi drop, VPN hiccup, laptop lid closed - shows this banner instantly across the whole app. Any action still in progress (a lab edit, a start command) retries automatically once the connection returns; nothing is lost.

The banner clears itself the moment the browser reports the connection back - no manual dismiss, no reload needed.

This signal comes from your browser (the same one any website gets), so it only catches a full loss of connection. It will not catch netplex. itself going down while your network stays up. For that, requests retry on their own when the server briefly fails, and the live connections behind consoles and status reconnect by themselves, waiting a little longer between tries. See "Web console breaks during a rebuild" for the console-specific reconnect path.
